The Prego Files

26 weeks...

Soon after the 30 week mark, this all became so real... Michelle no longer had to insist she was pregnant because she finally started to "pop".  Week after week, Baby really started to show... little kicks and stretches, reminding Mom Baby was busy growing and trying to stay comfortable!

Scrambled eggs and veggies late at night... I think I ate it all!

Work threw Michelle a wonderful baby shower and she can't WAIT to put the crib up in the bedroom and organize and put away all the Baby things.  But we will be patient and wait just a little longer before we delve into this fun project!

We chose somewhat haphazardly to take Bradley Method vs. Lamaze classes.

In fairness to Lamaze, we really do have a very limited understanding of its focus.  We understand there is a focus on breathing techniques to help distract you from the pain and have, unfortunately, heard too often that these techniques go out the window as soon as true labor begins.

From what we understand so far, Bradley Method teaches the mother and partner to prepare their minds and the mother's body to FACE and OVERCOME the pain of childbirth at its different stages through husband-coached relaxation methods, proper nutrition and pregnancy-position-focused excercise.

The mantra is that medicine is more harmful than helpful to a woman's labor and delivery and that, while it has it's place in life and death emergencies, a woman is truly equipped in both mind and body, to look to herself and mother nature, rather than towards medication, to make it through this phenomanal woman's "right of passage".

If Erich and I can manage through a natural and medicine free childbirth, we will be most proud and priviledged.
